5 STEPS TO GETTING STARTED

August 28, 2017

Have you been thinking something needs to change in your life. You want to make changes to your nutrition, start a new exercise plan or just need to make some other changes that will improve your quality of life.

Luckily for you I've been there and found that getting started is always the most difficult part. So I've put together my "5 Steps To Getting Started" which I use whenever I'm starting something new.

1.  KNOW YOUR WHY

Getting honest with yourself and writing down your personal reason why is the best why to start anything. It will be your motivation when times get hard and will drive you to ensure you reach your goals.

Ask yourself these 3 question:

~ Why will this make a difference in my life?

~ Why is this so important to you?

     ~ Why now?

2. ASK FOR HELP, GET A COACH

Asking for help and getting a coach means that it takes the guess work out of it for you. it makes you accountable to somebody, so when your not sure about something their is someone you can ask. Or when your not full of enthusiasm their there to pick you up and guide you in the right direction.

 3. WHAT'S YOUR GOAL

A coach will help you define your goals. In 3BFit we use the S.M.A.R.T principal which means

Specific - Explain what you are looking to achieve, how you will achieve it and how much time you will give it. e.g I want to lose 10lbs, by exercising x3 times per week and by making changed necessary to my nutrition and mind set. I will achieve this by 24th December.

Measurable - Plan how often you will measure you progress. I generally give my clients 15mins each week to assess and measure their progress.

Achievable - Make your goal achievable. By setting small achievable goals to start out with each week your are more likely to reach your target and achieve the end goal.

Realistic - If you know you have events coming up that might throw you off course be realistic and allow for these things.

Time Specific - Set a start date and an end date.

4. CREATE A PLAN

"Fail to prepare, prepare to fail"

You need to sit down with a coach and come up with a clear plan of how these goals are going to be successfully achieved. Your coach will set up your workout plan and help you create a plan for your nutrition.
